Windows Installation

Step-by-step guide to installing StemX on Windows 10/11.

Prerequisites

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • 8 GB RAM minimum
  • 500 MB free disk space
  • VST3 compatible DAW

Installation Steps

Download the Installer

Download StemX-Windows-Installer.exe from your account dashboard after purchase.

Run the Installer

Double-click the installer to begin. If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.

Accept the licence agreement and choose your installation options:

  • VST3: Installs to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
  • AAX: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins (coming soon)
  • Standalone: Installs to your chosen location

Activate Your Licence

Launch StemX and enter your licence key when prompted. The key was sent to your email after purchase.

Format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Click Activate. Once activated, the licence is tied to your machine and works fully offline.

Rescan Plugins in Your DAW

Open your DAW and rescan for new plugins. StemX should appear under GIMZWARE or Effects.

GPU Acceleration (Optional)

For best performance, ensure GPU acceleration is configured:

NVIDIA GPUs (CUDA)

Update to driver version 525 or later. StemX will automatically detect and use CUDA.

AMD / Intel GPUs (DirectML)

DirectML works with any DirectX 12 compatible GPU. No additional drivers needed.
